Somerset Art Week

Phew! What a busy time for Blueberry Glass! We've just finished taking part in Somerset Art Week. This bi-annual event saw Blueberry at two locations - Seabreeze Gallery at Burnham on Sea and Myrtle Farm in Moorlynch, near Bridgwater.

Many people seem to do a 'tour' of particular areas of the county during Art Week, as there are usually small clusters of artists to be found tucked away in villages, down winding country lanes and sometimes the most unusual locations!

We had the most beautiful exhibition space at Myrtle Farm - a converted barn with high exposed beams, white washed stripped floorboards and a view across a Somerset orchard and the levels beyond. Wonderful!

This is one of the exhibits at Seabreeze. Called simply 'Kilve', it's inspired by the textures of the rocks and pebbles at Kilve Beach on the Somerset coast. The panel is the result of several firings and is held on the wall with two solid aluminium mounts. These hold the panel 40mm away from the wall allowing the light to pass through and for the colours and textures to come alive!

Although Art Week is now over for another two years, our Gallery Glass can be found in other art spaces. Please contact us for some more information here.
